hello!
We are SO thrilled to be on this journey of an open adoption! We have room in our hearts, which we look forward to filling with love for not only a child, but for the birth parents that make the brave and selfless decision through love to choose adoption. In our minds, the more people that have love for a child, the better!
About Us
Our story together started in the aisles of a small-town grocery store where we worked together for the summer. Our friendship blossomed over berry picking and walks in the woods and along the beach. A couple of years after that, we were married and the adventures continue!
We are a good match as we both enjoy the simple things in life like dinners together, going for walks, and playing with our dog, Libby.
Many summer weekends are spent up north at our family cabin, with lots of quality time spent fishing, swimming, and watching sunsets around the bonfire with family and friends.
Doing a fair amount of traveling, we use the valuable “car time” to connect and talk about anything and everything.
We also enjoy entertaining friends and family on our deck and back yard during the warmer months. Rachel may go a little overboard with flowers and garden trinkets but it's fun to have that space and time with the special people in our life.
We decided a few years ago to forgo birthday and anniversary gifts and decided instead to take a trip together, as experiences together are more meaningful. They haven't been big trips but we have had fun on road trips around the Midwest. We look forward to continuing this tradition as a family, but of course there will be gifts for a little one's birthday!
Whenever possible, Nick finds time to go fishing. We get up north a few times a winter to go on an adventure with Nick's family to chase after lake trout. In the summer months, we spend time on different lakes either near our home or up by the cabin. Nick is excited to teach the next generation all about fishing.

Our Village
We truly believe that it takes a village to raise a child. We are blessed to be surrounded by wonderful family and friends that are all ready to love a child. We asked our village for their support and the response was overwhelming as there is already so much love in place and we are all ready to welcome a little one into the village.
